Jermaine Reed, Managing Partner, a former City Councilmember, Member of the Board of Trustee for the Metropolitan Community College, has a passion for progress.
He is often termed a ‘collaborator’ or ‘cheerleader’ – he is a champion who encourages, mentors, and helps others. His life skills have served him well during his eight years on the City Council, including four years as chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and two terms on the Board of Directors for the National League of Cities.
As City Councilman, Jermaine achieved an impressive list of major legislative accomplishments and shepherded multiple large-scale community developments. From expanding Kansas City’s airport and bringing grocery stores to low-income neighborhoods, to increasing the minimum wage and ‘banning-the-box’ on employment applications for felons, as well as leading community redevelopment efforts for the 18th & Vine Historic District, and building a new Regional Crime Lab and Police Division Station.
Jermaine brings years of experience working with Kansas City communities to his work with Kansas City Fashion Week. You’ll see Jermaine supporting and representing KCFW at various events throughout the city!
