In March of 2009 Layne Whitehouse made the jump to being self-employed. What started out as a photography hobby became her career and put her in the path of Teisha Barber via a runway show. In 2011 Layne joined the Kansas City Fashion Week committee as the Creative Director.
Over the years, while the camera stays important, Layne's career path has branched out. For Kansas City Fashion Week, she now finds her role as the Program Manager - in charge of booking models, style teams, and merchandise sales. This gives her an opportunity to engage with everyone and promote the events in Kansas City while still being able to stay home with her twin girls.
