Please read through this FAQ before reaching out! If you can not find the answer to your question, please email Layne@KCFashionWeek.com. Thank you!
I made the roster! Now what?
Congratulations on making the roster! Designers will now receive the roster and will work with the KCFW team to select models. Unfortunately, not every model that makes the roster will be selected by a designer. As a reminder, do not solicit designers. If you are requested by a designer you will hear directly from Layne Whitehouse (layne@kcfashionweek.com), or Aspen Deperalta (aspen@kcfashionweek.com).
How will I know if I’m selected by a designer?
There is no deadline for being requested by a designer. We will book models all the way through the week of the shows. We aim to have the majority booked about 8 weeks in advance, but we consistently book models due to last minute changes. If you are requested by a designer you will hear directly from Layne Whitehouse (layne@kcfashionweek.com), or Aspen Deperalta (aspen@kcfashionweek.com).
I was selected! Now what?
Designers communicate differently. Some will contact you right away, some will only contact you once their roster is full, and -rarely- sometimes you won’t hear from them until it’s show time. As long as you are hearing from the KCFW Staff about rehearsals or general KCFW information, you can expect things are running smoothly. KCFW will always update you of any changes.
What emails should I expect from KCFW?
You can expect the following emails if you have been selected by a designer.
There is a probability that you will receive more than just these three emails:
- A Rehearsal Email with your designer’s date and time. (approximately one month in advance)
- A Call Time Email (this will come AFTER rehearsal weekend) with your designer's official call time for the day of the show. Please plan for 10am.
- A General Information Email the week of the shows about parking, what to bring, etc.
How many times can I walk?
Models are allowed to walk one time per night, and a total of two nights on the runway. Being booked for peripheral events will not count towards the two runway walks. Upon occasion, a model may have to fill in last minute. This is never planned and KCFW attempts to avoid this at all costs.
The show is over - how to I access images?
Pictures will be posted via social media almost immediately. Anything posted online is open for you to share! Please tag everyone involved (stylists, designers, photographers, etc). Within three weeks of the final runway show, KCFW will post photographer links. You are welcome to purchase images for $10. They will be high resolution with no logos. These purchases are via individual photographers and not through KCFW.
